The shortcut: buy the prepackaged kit

The school offers prepackaged supply kits, which is the least painful way to do this. Order at educationalproducts.com/ShopPacks using code PER014.

Uniforms: where to actually shop

You don't have to buy everything from the official supplier.

• Target works well for most of it: khaki and blue shorts, pants, and skirts; white collared shirts for boys and girls; white or blue socks; and belts. They also have a good option for the boys' dressy blue jacket.
• Land's End is required for one specific thing. The girls' dressy cardigan has to be the Land's End version. Don't substitute this one.
• The Marketplace group on Facebook is the first place to look before buying anything new. Uniforms get handed down constantly, and you can post an ISO ("in search of") for a specific size or item. See Where Parents Talk.

• 1 recorder Bookstore only Must come from the Perimeter Bookstore so the pitches match. Labeled with full name.
• 2 watercolor paintbrushes Only if replacing. Fine-tipped #2 brush for details, available at the Perimeter Bookstore. Labeled with name or initials.

Two things the list says twice, so we will too

• Label everything, and replace it as it runs out. Pencils, glue sticks, dry erase markers, and red pens are consumables, so expect to restock mid-year.
• Watch the brands. Ticonderoga pencils, Sharpies, the Pentel Hi-Polymer eraser, and the Mead composition notebook are specified by name. The recorder has to come from the Bookstore. Everything else, generic is fine.
